Reeling in the Narrative
DIID was born from a simple Teezy decision: To simply stop giving a damn. The song is rooted in the art of letting go of expectations and fully embracing authenticity. First performed in Portland, the song marked a turning point in Teezy’s artistry and life. As she says, this wasn’t just a new chapter—it was a new book.
The title’s mantra, “Damn if I do, Damn if I don’t,” sums up the message: no matter what you do, someone will always have something to say. But when you know and stand in who you are, none of that matters.
Originally an unreleased trap-inspired dance track, “DIID” evolved through collaboration into a house and dance anthem of self-belief and freedom—vibrant, empowering, and deeply loved overseas and by the LGBTQ+ community.
Teezy’s Perspective: “As far as what listeners will take away, I feel like I pray they take away empowerment, self-confidence, self-affirming nature, truly walking in the power of who you know you are, not who other people think you are, but who you know you are. That's kinda the intention I pray listeners get, is to move in who you know you are. And if you don’t know who you are yet, take the time to find out that way you can walk in your highest power at all times.”

Bri’s Perspective: “Designing for DIID was especially interesting because there was already an existing album version. The challenge was intentionally tuning out that prior visual identity while trying to capture the unique energy of the remix pack. Each of the three songs, even when it’s technically the same track, brings a completely different vibe. Finding a way to visually represent all three cohesively something new for me.
This remix pack is all about feel-good energy—bright, dynamic, and infectious. The artwork needed to reflect that sense of movement, excitement, and positivity, while still giving each track its own personality within the shared visual language. Balancing these elements pushed me to explore new textures, colors, and forms that I might not have used for the original album.
